Finally I can show you what I made, it’s a design of a project bag for Yarn and Colors. I designed this projectbag for the lookbook of June. It’s my first design for a yarn brand and I am really really proud of it!

Every year I try to make something nice for Christmas. I’m doing this for some time now, so I have already a little collection op DIY Christmas projects (Find my other Christmas project here). Of course I wanted to make something for 2018 too. A couple of weeks ago I saw on Instagram at Minkesthuis that she made a beautiful advent calendar. Last year she also made a real beauty, but because of my thesis I didn’t had time to make it. This year I have a little bit more time, so I decided to make an advent calendar this yeas too. I checked the yarn in my webshop Okariconcepts, if there was some nice yarn to use for the advent calendar.

With this great weather in the Netherlands, I’m enjoying my own garden a lot. It almost feels like I’m in Ibiza with these great temperatures, and I’m more into trying some new cocktails on these hot summer evenings. It’s some time ago already that I made a blogpost about a cocktail. I don’t have a lot of time to write Blogs these days, hihi it’s not that we’re not drinking any cocktails;-). But tonight Martin is in Breda watching a Hockey champignonship with some Japanese guys and the Japanese ambassador, so I picked up my camera to make some cocktail pictures. A cocktail with the name an Ibiza Reloaded.

Last week, we were invited for lunch at Japanese friends of us. They asked us if we want to eat Sushi and Tempura, but we had to make the Sushi ourselves. Of course we wanted that, we love eating Sushi and tempura. But making it is quite another story. The last time I made Nigiri Sushi myself, all the rice was sticking to my fingers and the Sushi really looked awful. But when we arrived at our friends house it turned out that they had a very easy way of making Sushi, together sitting at the table. Even for us Dutchies it was simple, so we tried it this week already at home.

A few weeks ago, I started with the first part of the Cosmic Cal 2018, designed by Helen Shrimpton (Crystalsandcrochet). I know, I’m still working on my Sophie’s Universe blanket, but I couldn’t resist to start a new Cal.
I really like working on my Sophie and the Cosmic Cal is the same kind of blanket, The second reason is that I wanted to join a Cal from the beginning, and the Cosmic Cal looks like a great project to do so.
Groeten en Fruit – Asis Fruitswagen in Curacao
It’s been some time since I made a Blogpost about Curacao, while I do have a lot more to show you of the island, where we’ve been and what great places they have to eat. So it’s time to write some more Blogposts.
Every day when we drove back to our appartment at Jan Thiel baai, we came by this funny fruit wagon, called Asis Fruitswagen. It has this funny thing on it with Groeten en Fruit. Whiche means Greetings and Fruit. But in Dutch you see a lot Groenten en Fruit (so with an extra n at Groeten, and then it means vegetables). I don’t know if it was a typing error, but it’s a great one in this case.
DIY mothersday gift
Still translating
A few weeks ago I was at the #letsmeetlunch, organised by Joandi Loes from Hemelryk. We did a great workshop, given by Sanne (lille.hus on Instagram), on wich we made a living Eco system with small plants in a big Mason jar. When I drove home, I was already thinking about how I can make a great mothersday gift out of this.

Now the Sophie is still small, so working on it goes fast, but later when she’s bigger it will be different I guess. It’s a big blanket and it will cost a couple of months to make it, so it’s nice to see some results already. This week, part 3 has 10 rounds to do. I work with 5 different colors and I changed the color scheme from Deidre to my own colors. I decide per round which color I will use.
Part 2 Sophie’s Universe
The first part of Sophie’s Universe is finished. It wasn’t difficult at all and it looks great. The ByClaire soft mix yarn is fine for crocheting, I only have to be careful that it’s not splitting. So I was ready to start part 2 of the pattern. I’m still happy with the colors that I’ve chosen and for this part 3 more colors will be introduced.
Part 1 Sophies Universe
Now it’s really happening, I started the Sophies Universe part 1. Every week from now on, I will try to finish a part of my Sophie and make a Blogpost about it. In the first post I already showed you the colors that I will use for my Sophie from the Softmix yarn of ByClaire. In the next Blogs I will show you the colors that I use per round.
