Do you have that too, you want to do so many things at the same time, and you don’t know where to start anymore? Finally you and up with doing nothing. I have that a lot.
We are rebuilding an old house since the end of 2002. The house is from before 1900 and it’s such a never ending story (but we love the house). These days it’s not only rebuilidng, but also the normal things like painting things again. And at the same time I have new ideas to change things we already rebuilded 10 years ago. Next to that I also get a lot of inspiration from Instagram, Pinterest, magazines etc. into my head. For those ideas I’m buying all kind of stuff. Most of the time I start with the idea, but It’s still not finished. It gave me the feeling that my head is floating over. Everywhere there is stuff that needs some work.
So to get things done, I bought a nice, simple notebook at the Hema and I started to write down different categories and projects on different pages. Under that I wrote all things that I could think of that need to be done and my new to do list was born.
Some people are laughing about my to do lists, but somehow this is the only way for me to finish things and to empty my head a little bit and of course to clean up the house;-). So after writing everything down, the To do list exists now of 200 items. This goes from a lot of painting and other things for the house, to clothes I need to fix, things for my Blog and other hobby things that I have in my mind.

DIY: Copper colored mason jars and weck jars
Last year I wrote for my Blog Cakesandpumps already a post about this nice DIY to paint spray Mason Jars or Weck pots and to use them as pots for pencils and other office stuff. Or for cooking stuff. in the mean time my atelier is a little bit more finished and I could definitely use some new pots for my pencils and scissors. I like it a lot, since my desk is always full with stuff like pencils and markers that I should really put into a jar or something. So to keep it a little bit more clean I could really use this to clean my desk a little bit. Haha does that sound familiar to you too, then you should try this DIY. It’s an easy thing to do, the waiting for the paint to dry takes much more time than the DIY itself.

A couple of weeks ago I bought this beautiful teapot Theo from Stelton. A real beauty and it was on my wishlist for some time now;-)
The teapot is black, altough it looks a little bit more like dark grey. On the inside the teapot is made of ceramics and on the outside is a layer of cast-iron finish.
FoekjeFleur: Bottle vases that look like cleaning bottles
For a while the Bottle Vases from FoekjeFleur are on my wishlist. Lately you see these vases more and more on Instagram, what made me even more enthousiast about the Bottle Vases. So two weeks ago I thought it was time to finally order a Bottle Vase at FoekjeFleur.

Sinterklaas is out of the country, so Sunday I moved all the Sint decorations to our attic and started the search for our Christmas decorations. We haven’t bought the tree yet, we want to buy one in our little village. I really love the period right before Christmas and Christmas itself. All the beautiful lights, the Christmas trees in different sizes and Christmas decorations. But what Ilike the most is making my own DIY Christmas decorations. Every year I try to make something new for our Christmas collection, an overview of the Christmas DIY projects that I made for this Blog can you find here. For this year the first project is already finished, a little car with a Christmas tree on the roof. You see them a lot on Instagram, but I still like them. And they are very easy to make.

No one could have missed that Sinterklaas, the Dutch child legend is back in town. My sun Lars starts to realise who Sinterklaas is. Last week he still called him a gnome, because of his big white beard I guess, but since the Sint has landed, he really became Sinterklaas. Super nice to see him so enthousiast about the good old man, and mama is even more enthousiastic;-).
Finally I have a reason to decorate the house with nice Sinterklaas decoration, although I don’t have a lot of time. At the end of october my colleges at Nyenrode started again (next to my normal job) and I’ve been working on my Master thesis proposal for a couple of weeks now. But it’s so nice to make a few little DIY projects and I do need a break sometimes. So I made a couple of things for the Sinterklaas styling in our house.
DIY: coloring for Grown-ups, footstool from Hema (Hemahack #1)
Last week I was at Hema and suddenly my eye felt on this carton footstool. What a funny little footstool from Hema. My head starts to think immediately if I could make something nice with it.

So nice of you to read my first blogpost on Goodlives. I doubted some time if I wanted to start this Blog, since I also write Blogs for Cakes and Pumps, my lifestyleblog. Two Blogs is a little bit busy, but I like to Blog. Only I think that on my other Blogs there is not so much room for Interior design, renovating and home accessories. Not on my foodblog, since this is about food and also not on my lifestyleblog, because I don’t want that one to turn into an interior Blog. But I felt that it is time to finish the house and to style it with nice decorations. And I have a lot of ideas that I like to with you and hopefully I will feel a little more pressure to finish the unfinished things in the house:-). So finally I decided to start this Blog.
